District Receives Safety Awards

South Indian River Water Control District Received two Safety Awards at the Safety Council of Palm Beach County 29th Annual Awards Luncheon and Auction held on April 9, 2026.
Board Supervisor Beth McElroy was featured as the Keynote Speaker at the event.
The District received an Award of Merit for Worker Safety and an Award of Excellence for Vehicle Safety.
The Safety Council of Palm Beach County, Inc., is a nonprofit, public service organization dedicated to making Palm Beach County and South Florida a safer place to live, work, and play.
Founded in 1967, it has been actively working to reduce health hazards and prevent injury for both individuals and the community, aiming to lower personal and economic losses from accidents and unsafe conditions.

The Council’s primary purpose is to promote safety through education, training, and community programs. It focuses on:
- Traffic safety – reducing crashes and improving road safety for all users.
- Workplace safety – providing training and resources to prevent workplace injuries.
- Community safety – offering public education campaigns and resources to the general public
The mission of the Safety Council of Palm Beach County, Inc., is to advance a safety-first culture by providing trusted education and training to the community.
