This video describes the drainage systems utilized in South Indian River Water Control District, a Florida Special District, to manage rainwater storage and flooding. The District encompasses 12,400 acres and includes Jupiter Farms, Palm Beach Country Estates, Egret Landing, and Jupiter Park of Commerce in northern Palm Beach County. There are 60 miles of canals and hundreds of miles of swales and ditches in the District. Tertiary, secondary, and primary drainage are discussed, along with what landowners can do to help maintain good drainage on their property.
